Our Story

The Last Defence Lounge (LDL) is a fully licensed restaurant operated by the Graduate Students' Association of the University of Calgary, and located on the third floor MacEwan Student Centre (MSC 350).  The LDL was established in 1988 as a result of an expansion of the MacEwan Student Centre. The LDL takes pride in serving the UCalgary community for the past 30+ years and is committed in continuing and improving its service in the years to come. Any profits made by the Last Defence Lounge will be reinvested in improving programs and services for graduate students at the University.

The LDL welcomes the entire University of Calgary community and their guests. Our members include all faculty, staff, undergraduate and graduate students, and all alumni - regardless of the year of graduation.
