About The Last Defence Lounge

Membership Information

The Last Defence (LDL) is a fully licensed restaurant operated by the Graduate Students' Association of Calgary and located on the third floor MacEwan Student Centre (MSC 350).

The LDL is a members-only club.

The LDL now welcomes the entire University of Calgary community and their guests. This includes: all faculty, staff, undergraduate and graduate students, and all alumni - regardless of the year of graduation. Simply show your Campus ONEcard (UCID) or Alumni Membership Card to gain access to the lounge. There is no charge for membership. Please note, proof of age ID may also be required.

Members' Responsibility

The Last Defence Lounge membership holder that presents their card for a table or reservation must remain with and are responsible for the group.

All members and guests are expected to respect the staff and the lounge facilities.

All members must present their membership cards (UCID/Campus ONEcard or Alumni Membership) in order to gain admission to The Last Defence Lounge. There are no exceptions to this rule as it is a requirement for our business license as a private, members-only club. To do otherwise, could mean the loss of our license.

Gift Certificates

Gift certificates can be purchase for any amount, and make the ideal gift for student or colleague. The lounge accepts cash or IDB numbers as payment.

To order your gift certificate, please contact the GSA Executive Assistant at 403 220-5133.

Alternatively, you can stop by the GSA office (350 MSC) Mondays through Fridays, 8:30 am to 4:30 pm.
